WHY PROVINCETOWN? WHY WOMEN'S WEEK?

Because this place holds

something sacred for us.

There's a reason why we chose Provincetown, Massachusetts, for our Later in Life LGBTQIA+ Conference.

And there's a reason we're gathering during Women's Week – one of the longest-running queer women's festivals in the world.

This isn’t just about a conference. It’s about
claiming space
— physically, emotionally, spiritually — in a place that has been a sanctuary for LGBTQIA+ people for generations.

Provincetown is more than a destination —

it’s a homecoming.

It’s where so many of us have come — in secret, in fear, in hope — to begin again.

It’s a town that has wrapped its arms around the queer community for decades, especially women who are learning how to love and live as their full selves.

When you walk Commercial Street, you’re not “the only one” anymore.

You’re not hiding.

You’re seen. Celebrated. Safe.

And during Women’s Week, the energy is electric — thousands of LGBTQIA+ women, trans, and nonbinary folks come together to laugh, dance, connect, and live out loud.

To be here, with our people, is an act of resistance, of liberation, of joy.

FOR SO MANY OF US COMING OUT LATER IN LIFE...

We’ve spent years, sometimes decades, being the “good girl,” the “dutiful wife,” the “perfect mom.”

We’ve tiptoed around our truth, worried about making waves, about being “too much,” about blowing up the life we built.

But here’s the truth:

You deserve to be in a space where you are not only allowed to be yourself — you are celebrated for it.

In Provincetown, during Women’s Week,

you’ll feel that celebration in your bones.

You’ll hear your laughter echo down the street.

You’ll make eye contact with someone across a room — or across a bonfire on the beach — and feel a connection that reminds you:

I belong here.

THIS IS WHERE YOUR NEXT CHAPTER BEGINS.

Not behind a screen. Not in secret.

But surrounded by others who are walking this later-in-life journey too — with pride, with courage, and with community.

Because being in Provincetown, during Women’s Week, is more than a conference location.

It’s a new home.

It’s a promise.

It’s your place in the story.
